200 researchers and 6 million euros for research in multiple sclerosis

For 30 years The Charcot Foundation raises funds and finances research in multiple sclerosis. On January 19, 2017, teams of Belgian researchers received more than 200,000 euros for finance innovative projects in the fight against this disease. With this amount and thanks to its donors, the total funds distributed to research by the Charcot Foundation reached 6 million euros.
True to its mission of public utility in the field of fundamental and translational research, the Charcot Foundation supported more than 200 researchers and/or research teams in 27 renowned university labs*. Through their innovative approach, these men and women are bringing important advances. in multiple sclerosis research.
This year, the Charcot Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is once again confirming the quality of the 2017 winners, the quality of the projects and its essential role in funding multiple sclerosis research in our country. In Belgium nearly 12,000 people suffer from this neurological disease, which is still incurable.
