Charcot Fellowship: first edition 2016-2020

True to its mission of public utility in the field of fundamental and translational research, the Charcot Foundation is also setting up the Charcot Fellowship, doctoral fellowship program for young researchers (under 30). This scholarship will allow them to conduct research on MS for 4 years and to make advances in the fight against this disease.The first Charcot Fellowship (2016-2020) is awarded to Elien Grajchen from the University of Hasselt. Ms Grajchen will start her research project on October 11, 2016 in the team of Prof. Jerome Hendriks (Hasselt).The purpose of these mandates is to strengthen the research potential of teams interested in multiple sclerosis in Belgium. By addressing young researchers who wish to carry out a doctoral thesis on multiple sclerosis, the mandate aims at long-term effects on research against this disease. The first scholarship recipient is Ms Elien GRAJCHEN (UHasselt), whose sponsor is Prof. Dr. Jerome HENDRIKS, Associate Professor in Immunology and Biochemistry, Biomedical Research Institute, University of Hasselt. The choice of Ms Grajchen confirms the quality of the current research team at UHasselt and will encourage young people to embark on studies or a scientific career.
