When a celebration becomes a symbol of research

A first edition... and a success beyond our expectations
At the end of the year, the Belgian Charcot Foundation launched its first charity Christmas ornament campaign. The idea was simple: to offer a beautiful, meaningful item that could be displayed in homes during the festive season—and turn a heartfelt purchase into concrete support for multiple sclerosis (MS) research. You responded in remarkable fashion: all the ornaments were sold.
A double impact: craftsmanship and research
This initiative also had another important dimension for us: highlighting and supporting the work of an artisan. The Christmas ornaments were made by Christophe Génard, who trained at Val Saint Lambert, an iconic name in Belgian glassmaking. Thanks to your orders, local craftsmanship has been promoted, and a collaboration has been made possible under very positive conditions. Above all, the impact on our mission is very real: the proceeds from this campaign will fund two months of research into multiple sclerosis.
Bringing research into homes—and hope into hearts
Beyond the result, this campaign touched us because of what it represents: a festive item that circulates and is passed on—and reminds us that, at the same time, scientific teams are working, making progress, and building the future.
Thank you
Thank you to everyone who ordered, gifted, shared, or simply encouraged this initiative. Thank you also to Christophe Génard, whose talent and precision gave tangible form to this campaign. This first edition paves the way for end-of-year initiatives that bring people together, do good, and support research. We look forward to building on this success with you.
