Targeting the G-protein coupled receptor 183 in the context of multiple sclerosis – a preclinical proof-of concept

Oxysterols are lipids that can control inflammation. Recent evidence suggests that interacting with oxysterol targets could have beneficial effects in the context of multiple sclerosis (MS). One of these targets is the receptor GPR183.

In this project, we will use potent compounds that target GPR183 and test their effect in representative models of MS to assess whether this receptor is an interesting target for developing new treatments. With this project we hope to provide a preclinical proof-of-concept supporting the interest of targeting GPR183 in the context of MS
